Terms of Service

Reviza is an online revision platform at reviza.co.uk (“Reviza”, “the service”). It is operated by [full legal name of the operator: registered company name and number, or the adult’s full name if a sole trader] of [trading address] (“we”, “us”, “our”).

Reviza was founded and built by a 15-year-old student. Because a person under 18 cannot enter into all of the commercial arrangements this service needs, the contract for Reviza — and the arrangements with our payment provider — are held by the adult named above, who is legally responsible for the service.

When you create a Reviza account you enter into a contract with us on these terms. Please read them before you sign up. If you do not agree with them, do not create an account.

• You must be 13 or over to create a Reviza account. Reviza is not for children under 13 and we will delete any account we believe belongs to someone under 13.
• If you are under 18, please check with a parent or carer before you sign up, and always ask them before you pay for anything. By paying for a subscription you confirm that you have permission from the person who owns the payment card, or that the card is your own and you are allowed to use it.
• If you are a school, college or tutor setting up accounts for students, you are responsible for making sure each student meets these requirements.
• We may ask you to confirm your age. Giving us false information about your age is a breach of these terms.

• You can sign up with an email address and password, or with a Google account.
• Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password private and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account unless someone uses it without your knowledge and it is not your fault.
• Tell us straight away at [support email] if you think someone else has got into your account.
• One account per person. Do not create accounts to get around limits, bans or free-plan allowances.

Reviza is for your own personal revision and study. You may:

• paste or type your own notes, or notes you are allowed to use;
• upload photos of your own handwritten work (paid plans);
• generate study tips, summary notes, flashcards and practice quizzes, and use them for your own revision.

You must not:

• use Reviza to cheat — for example to produce work you pass off as your own in controlled assessments, coursework or exams, or to break your school’s or exam board’s rules;
• use Reviza for anything unlawful, or to harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone;
• upload or generate content that is sexual, violent, hateful, discriminatory, extremist, or that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, drugs or other serious harm;
• upload other people’s personal information — for example photos of classmates, contact details, or anything about someone’s health — without a good reason and their permission;
• resell, republish or commercially redistribute Reviza content, or use Reviza to build a competing product;
• use Reviza in a way that damages it or other users’ experience.

You must not attempt to:

• get around sign-in, account separation or any other security measure;
• access another user’s account, study sets or data;
• get around free-plan usage limits, for example by creating extra accounts, automating requests, or altering requests sent to our service;
• get around, disable or “jailbreak” the safety instructions built into our AI features, including prompts designed to produce prohibited content;
• scrape, crawl, bulk-download or use bots against Reviza, or probe, scan or load-test our systems, except through an interface we publish for that purpose;
• reverse engineer, decompile or copy the way Reviza works.

We monitor for this kind of activity and may suspend accounts that do it.

Reviza has a free plan and a paid subscription, Reviza Pro. The free plan currently includes a limited number of study sets each month, shorter notes, smaller flashcard decks and shorter quizzes, and does not include photo uploads. Reviza Pro removes or raises those limits. The current list of what each plan includes is on our Pricing page, which forms part of these terms.

We may change what is included in each plan. If a change significantly reduces what you get on a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and, where appropriate, receive a refund for the part of your paid period you have not used.

• Reviza Pro is offered monthly and annually. Annual is billed as one payment for twelve months.
• You pay when you subscribe, and then automatically at the start of each renewal period.
• If a payment fails we may retry it and may pause your Pro features until it succeeds.
• We may change prices. Existing subscribers will be told at least 30 days before a price change affects them and the new price will only apply from your next renewal. If you do not want the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

Your subscription renews automatically. A monthly subscription renews every month and an annual subscription renews every twelve months, at the price then shown for your plan, using the payment method you gave us, until you cancel.

• You can cancel at any time from the Account page, using the “Manage subscription” link. No phone call or email is required.
• Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not refund the period you have already paid for.
• After you cancel you keep Reviza Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. After that your account moves to the free plan.

• Your account and your saved study sets stay in place on the free plan.
• Free-plan limits apply again, so photo uploads, longer notes and larger decks stop working and older saved sets may no longer be shown.
• Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting your account — see section 16.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

14-day cancellation right. Because Reviza is digital content supplied online, you normally have 14 days from the date you subscribe to change your mind and get a full refund. When you subscribe we ask you to agree that we start supplying Reviza Pro immediately; if you then cancel within the 14 days we may charge you a fair amount for the part of the service you used before cancelling. If something is wrong. If Reviza Pro is not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described, you are entitled to a repair or replacement and, if that is not possible, a price reduction or refund.

Outside those situations we do not usually refund part-used periods, but you can always cancel to stop future payments. To ask for a refund, email [support email] from the address on your account.

Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by Reviza. Stripe’s own terms and privacy notice apply to its handling of your payment, and Stripe may carry out fraud checks. If a payment is reversed or charged back, we may suspend your Pro features while we look into it.

Reviza uses artificial intelligence to generate study tips, summary notes, flashcards and quiz questions from what you give it.

AI can get things wrong. Generated content may contain mistakes, out-of-date information, missing detail or answers that do not match your exam board’s specification. Reviza is a revision aid, not a substitute for your teacher, your textbook, your exam board specification or official past papers. Always check generated content against your course materials before relying on it, and ask your teacher if something looks wrong.

No guarantee of results. We do not promise that using Reviza will improve your grades or produce any particular exam result or educational outcome. Grades depend on many things outside our control.

Generated content may be similar to content generated for other users from similar prompts. We do not claim it is unique to you.

• You keep ownership of the notes, photos and other material you upload (“your content”).
• You give us a licence to store your content and to send and process it as needed to run Reviza — including sending it to our AI provider to generate your study materials, and storing the results in your account. The licence lasts as long as your content is on Reviza and exists only so that we can provide the service to you. We do not sell your content or use it to advertise to you.
• Only upload what you are allowed to use. Do not upload copyrighted material such as scans of textbooks, past papers or worksheets unless you have permission or the law allows it, and do not upload other people’s personal information without their agreement.
• You are responsible for your content. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

Reviza, including its name, logo, design, text, software and the way it works, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use Reviza for your own revision, but you may not copy, adapt, republish or commercially exploit any part of Reviza itself without our written permission.

• We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used to harm other people or our service. Where it is fair and safe to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
• If we close a paid account for a breach we may refund the unused part of your subscription; we are not required to if the breach was serious.
• You can close your account at any time. The Account page has a “Delete my account” option, which permanently deletes your account, study sets, quiz results and uploaded photos.
• Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Please cancel your subscription first, or contact us.
• We may keep limited records where the law requires it, for example payment and tax records. See the Privacy Policy.

• We aim to keep Reviza available, but we do not promise it will be available all the time or free of faults. We may take it down for maintenance and will try to do so at quieter times and give notice where we can.
• We may add, change or remove features so that Reviza keeps improving.
• We may stop offering Reviza altogether. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice, let you download your content, and refund the unused part of any subscription.
• Reviza depends on services outside our control, including our AI provider and our hosting and payment providers.

• We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
• We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breaches of your legal rights as a consumer.
• We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by you breaking these terms, or for exam results or educational outcomes.
• Where our liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited to [suggested: the greater of £100 or the total you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose].
• Reviza is for personal, non-commercial use. We are not liable for business losses.

We explain what personal data we collect and why in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us. It covers the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep data, who we share it with, and your rights — including downloading or deleting your data.

Most Reviza users are aged 13 to 18. We follow the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children’s Code). In practice this means:

• Reviza is set to high privacy by default: your study sets are private to you, there are no public profiles, no social or messaging features, and no location tracking.
• We collect only what we need to run the service.
• We do not profile users or advertise to them, and we do not use nudge techniques to get you to share more data or lower your privacy settings.
• Analytics cookies are off until you choose to accept them.
• You can download or permanently delete your data at any time from the Account page.
• Parents and carers can contact us at [privacy email] with any concern about a young person’s account.

We may update these terms — for example to reflect new features or legal changes. Each version has a version number and effective date.

• For minor changes we will update this page and the version details at the top.
• For changes that materially affect your rights or the service you pay for, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or a notice in the app, and you will be asked to accept the new terms. If you do not accept, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect and we will refund the unused part of your paid period.

If you are unhappy with how we handle a complaint about your personal data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

• If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
• You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another business and will tell you if we do; your rights will not be affected.
• No one other than you and us has rights under these terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring court proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing here removes the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in.
